Parle Moi de Parfum is all about family. Benjamin Almairac grew up with stories about perfume that his father brought home from work. He dreamt of creating a venue right in the centre of Paris where the public could discover the finest fragrances that Michel Almairac had always dreamed of creating and staging.<\/p>

Together with Elisabeth, his mother, and Romain, his brother, he designed a space for witnessing the creation of a perfume and discovering that combination of magic and technique, of disconcerting ease and maddening complexity, that Michel describes when talking about his work.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\u201cIt was absolutely obvious! I was steeped in perfume when I was a boy. It was difficult to miss!\u201d Benjamin<\/p>

Talk about perfume and nothing else<\/h1>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

In bright and relaxing retail spaces at 10 rue de S\u00e9vign\u00e9 and 22 rue du Four, Benjamin has created a lab \u2013 complete with raw materials and weighing station \u2013 where a young perfumer works every day.<\/p>

He explains that when Michel, the in-house fragrance designer, sees a rose he immediately sketches out in his head the trail of a composition; when he slips into his leather jacket he is calculating the proportions of a future formula; and when he savours a marshmallow, eyes closed, he is uniting vanilla with orange blossom.<\/p>

Then follows the delicate task of selecting raw materials, rounded off by a series of weighing sessions, assessments and critiquing until the olfactory form in his imagination has been stabilised and the formula reaches a state of equilibrium.<\/p>

The number given to the final formula seals the product\u2019s final name forever.<\/p>

Parle Moi de Parfum is an opportunity to discover the work of a perfumer, and the different stages involved in creating a fragrance \u2013 all within clear and calm retail spaces.<\/p>

Perfumery is constantly evolving and this shop is breaking new ground. The laboratories are located right in the centre of Paris and give directly onto the street. It\u2019s a first ! Showcasing such authenticity is a display of confidence: no more secrets; it\u2019s all on show to fill you and your eyes with wonder.<\/p>

A workbench, weighing scales, a collection of beakers. Plus over two hundred natural and synthetic raw materials arranged on translucent shelves against a grey-blue glass background. These essences and absolutes are used every day to compose the future formulae.<\/p>
